Answers to Questions on My Blog
A. I would rate my physical well-being an 8 because, currently I’m improving on my weight and learning how to make healthier choices in regards to food.
B. I would rate my spiritual well-being as an 8 because I am still learning how to continue to strengthen my faith everyday by doing what is right and following my beliefs.
C. I would rate my psychological well-being a 7 because I am still learning how to cope with stress and not let situations that might occur in my life get the best of me.
My physical goal would be to reach an ideal weight so that all of my blood levels will be at a normal range. I also want to continue to eat healthy so that I don’t feel fatigue and have more energy to do the things I like.
My spiritual goal would be to continue attending the church that I feel comfortable with and continue putting my faith in God that he will lead me through all of the right paths to fulfill my goals.
My psychological goal would be to learn more on how stress affects the body. I also would like to be more open minded so that I don’t let every little thing that life throws at me be overcome with stress.
The activities that I can implement to assist me in moving toward each goal would be physical exercise, attending a bible based church, continue to practice good eating habits and practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or listening to music to reduce stress.
I thought The Crime of the Century was very beneficial I enjoyed the breathing techniques and the mental imagery. These are simple exercises that I can practice every day that won’t take a lot of time and will definitely help me deal with stress to improve my overall health. I would also like to share these exercises with my husband so that he too can learn to relieve stress.
I hope that you meet your physical goals soon. I used to participate in this new fad exercise, it’s called “crossfit.” Last year, in my old crossfit gym I met this woman, she was at her late 40’s, and told me how she used to be obese which what got her into crossfit. Last time I saw that woman, she was lifting at least 135lbs. over her head, deadlifting over 200lbs, and squatting over 200lbs. I believe anything is attainable as long as you stay determined to reach your goals. Stress can really play a negative toll on our bodies. Stress can cause obvious results such as depression, headaches, and anxiety. But, I learned that it can lead to asthma, arthritis, and diabetes as well. You can read about it here: effects of stress -WebMD and stress symptoms - mayoclinic
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned that you hope to implement exercise and deep breathing. Why not look into tai chi? It is a physical activity that incorporates the knowing to breathe correctly in order to harvest energy (otherwise known as Qi). I don’t personally practice is myself, but I would like to one day. It seems like a good way to meditate and get your exercise in at the same time.
You seem to be well rounded and only have very minimum things to work towards to establish an ideal health. We share a few similar ones such as attending church to increase spiritually and learning more coping mechanisms for stress. I have to agree that having faith and building that trust in God is the start to success at anything we strive to do.
